Disappointed

Terrible directions!!! my son is in construction so was able to get this done, BUT holes not in right place, some holes on knots in wood, so had to do new ones.. it is lightweight, chains are lightweight.. not good enough for the price, definitely not as nice as the log one we had but it decomposed and broke over time, thought this would be better,I would not recommend this swing set..

Fit and finish needs work

The boxes arrived a bit dinged up but the products inside were OK. One of the bench slats had a long crack close to the edge. I placed it in the corner of the back and bottom so it did not show and (hopefully) won't get splinters in our backside. The screws that hold down one of the seat slats run right in the middle of one of the pre-drilled holes for the eyebolts; trimming a bit off the end fixed this. The middle seat support pre-drilled hole was too large - the lag bolt stripped out the hole before it was close to being tight - I made a trip to the hardware store to buy a longer lag bolt to solve this flaw. The instructions for the A-Frame are not clear and several holes that should have been pre-drilled were not. It says that it takes 2 people - I had to build a scaffold to support the pieces so that the 2 of us could put it together, otherwise it would have taken 4 people. The screws are supposed to work with #2 Phillips or Robertson bits - my #2 Phillips stripped out 2 of the screws requiring another trip to the hardware store. Once I fixed the design flaws and got it together, it is a very nice porch swing. So... make sure you have a Robertson bit and a nearby hardware store, plan on an entire day to assemble it, and you will have a nice piece of furniture. If you are not good with your hands, do not buy this.
